I’ve recently purchased an Xboard 25 Midi keyboard but so far I didn’t quite have time to use it much.
But yesterday I had a sudden drive for checking it out a bit more thoroughly and I’ve done a fair bit of research on free VST/AU/RTAS plugins.
I’ve found quite a few of them, starting with Orca. It’s got quite weird interface to be honest, but it’s particularly great for producing crystal clear, deep bass sounds. I like the Flapping preset pictured below.

Another one that sounds quite interesting is Crystal. It’s got a lot of parameters to tweak, and you can download many patches right from the website. I haven’t played with it a lot yet but it looks like the possibilities are endless.

LinPlug has got the FreeAlpha3, which apparently is a stripped-down version of the Alpha 3. Once again, loads of possibilities and you can download a PDF user guide on the site too.

Alright, one last one, Remedy. Once again this looks very full featured and it doesn’t cost a dime!

It doesn’t mean my music is going to get any better…
